About Apples....
Apples Theme
As part of the Apple Theme I was sharing with my class I decided to make a voice thread for the students to view in addition to other lessons and tasks I've set for them to fulfill. Creating the story was interesting to say the least. My microphone was messing up, and my headphones had a short in the wire. So when I recorded I couldn't listen to it unless I held the cord in a certain way. To top it all off I was in the library, and the rooms can only be used for two or more people. So I was sitting in the library bent over the table with my mouth to the microphone speaking a little higher than a whisper about apples. I know I looked pretty funny.lol. Oh well. Praise God I got it done!!!
Digital Storytelling
Digital Storytelling is great!!! I most certainly am going to use it in the future. It can be used to explain experimental procedures in less time. It can also explain certain lesson plans and topics more in depth beyond the text. Teachers can also explain homework more in depth and do examples, so if a student gets home and doesn't understand--they can view the steps over and over until they get it. Voicethreads can also be used to chart students progress and vocabulary. A teacher could allow students to make voicethreads with their written work on it, and at the end of the year compare their handwriting styles, etc.
